Victory Lane Quick Oil Change To Serve As Anchor Sponsor For Garrett Smithley

PLYMOUTH, MICHIGAN (May 1st, 2019) – Victory Lane Quick Oil Change announced today that the company has increased its NASCAR sponsorship with Garrett Smithley this season.

Victory Lane will serve as a primary sponsor for three Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) events and three NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) events with Smithley behind the wheel.

“As an automotive preventive maintenance retailer, it just makes sense to continue our partnership in NASCAR, and share our love of cars with fellow enthusiasts. It’s a truly engaging way to interact with our customers, franchisees, and employees to promote the Victory Lane Quick Oil Change brand,” said Justin Cialella. “We are excited to continue our sponsorship of Garrett Smithley for the 2019 season.”

Last June, Victory Lane partnered with Smithley in his MENCS debut at Michigan International Speedway located in Jackson, Michigan. Additionally, the Michigan based organization served as Smithley’s primary sponsor at Kentucky Speedway in July, and again at Michigan International Speedway in August.

“I’m looking forward to having Victory Lane Quick Oil Change on both my Cup and XFINITY cars this season, Smithley said. “Justin and Jim helped me achieve a lifelong goal last June when they sponsored my Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series debut at Michigan. I will be forever grateful for their investment in not only me, but our sport.”

“Their brand and NASCAR go hand and hand. I’m looking forward to continuing the energy and momentum that was created around the Victory Lane Racing program last year,” he continued.

Victory Lane, along with Kendall Oil, Bucks Oil and Solid Start/True Brand  will adorn Smithley’s MENCS car at the FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway on June 9, 2019, the Consumers Energy 400 at Michigan International Speedway on August 11, 2019 and the AAA 500 at Texas Motor Speedway on November 3, 2019. Driver Garrett Smithley

Garrett Smithley’s racing career started in 2007, in Bandolero cars at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. Following Rookie of the Year honors and several championship series wins, he advanced to the highly competitive U.S. Legends car series, where he excelled at tracks throughout the Southeast, garnering many wins and additional championships. Through Garrett’s strong racing performances and personable demeanor, he was invited to compete in the Richard Petty Driver Search, a national driver development program. The Petty instructors were so impressed with Smithley, he was invited to join the organization as a driving instructor in 2011, and and worked for 5 years.

Daytona 500 Champion Derrike Cope recognized Garrett’s talents during testing at Daytona with the famous Kesolowski family and gave him the opportunity to make his stock car debut. He completed four races in the ARCA Racing Series Presented by Menards in 2013 and 2014, including a partnership with Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers for his first start at the Talladega Super Speedway. Garrett was back in an ARCA car for the first race of the 2015 season at Daytona International Speedway.

Garrett Smithley Racing reached yet another milestone this year with Smithley’s first start in the Camping World Truck Series at his home track, the Atlanta Motor Speedway, where he finished a solid 18th, with not a scratch on the Mittler Brothers Racing Chevy Silverado. This led to further truck races at Pocono and Michigan, again, with strong results. Smithley made his Xfinity debut at Homestead, as well. He drove the No. 70 SegPay Chevrolet Camaro for former Daytona 500 champion Derrike Cope.

Smithley has competed with JD Motorsports in the NASCAR Xfinity Series since 2016. He is currently in 17th in driver points and his best finish is a 5th place.

Smithley has extensive experience in theater, singing and musical theater, which set a great foundation for him to excel in public speaking and marketing. He is excellent with social media, press interviews and public appearances, promoting both his personal brand and those of his many sponsors. With a positive attitude and infectious smile, Smithley is an easily approachable fan favorite. At 26-years-old, he continues to gain valuable experience as a driving instructor at the Richard Petty Driving Experience.
